Back to Work is the industrial rehabilitation
division of Columbia Physical Therapy, P.C.
The needs of workers and employers today
are multi-faceted and range from management of the injured
worker to injury prevention. To better address those needs,
our entire staff has been certified in The Work Well System.
This state-of-the-art approach to industrial
rehabilitation allows us to offer a continuum of care, starting
with immediate, comprehensive treatment of the injured worker.
Additionally, we offer functional capacity evaluations.
Our goal is the safe and early return of
injured workers to a safe work environment.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
Our center utilizes the Isernhagen Functional Capacity Evaluation, the most objective musculoskeletally oriented assessment in the Capital District.
Correlating the outcomes of the test with the specific demands of the workers job is an integral part of the FCE. This allows us to clearly define the workers abilities and limitations as they relate to their work place.
The BACK TO WORK functional capacity evaluation provides:
Cost effective testing that answers the right questions.
Maximum abilities upon return to work as well as projections of 8-hour day performance.
Safe and timely return to work with prevention of reinjury.
Immediate verbal and written follow-up reports in clear, concise language.
Work Conditioning
Work Conditioning is a medically supervised, goal specific, job directed, program intensive, and employment integrated program to enhance a rapid and safe return to work.
The worker is considered an industrial athlete who is surrounded by a motivating environment geared to strengthening, conditioning, educating and simulating work tasks.
A structured program is individualized to the job requirements and communication is maintained to assure goals are achieved.
Features which distinguish BACK TO WORK include:
Indoor pool for cardiovascular conditioning and in the management of acute injury.
Trained staff of physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants who individualize and directly supervise each workers program.
