Columbia Physical Therapy is now offering the Anodyne Therapy System. The Anodyne Therapy System is a FDA cleared medical device in which monochromatic infrared therapy is emitted to help with conditions that would benefit from increased circulation and reduced pain.
Anodyne Therapy can be used in conjunction with balance training, therapeutic exercises and sensory training to effectively treat patients with peripheral neuropathy, with a goal of decreasing pain and improving balance and increasing sensation.
Anodyne Therapy can be used safely with metal implants, pins, screws and pacemakers. There is no electrical current or deep heat associated with this device.
